Black Panther - End Sequence

Outcome
Researching for this assignment involved countless rewatches
of the end credits sequence, and what I can create to turn it into
something new, yet the same. I was very interested in the original
sequence's usage of the Wakandan language. The transitions
between the Wakandan and English languages featured in the
credits seemed secondary in focus to the large monuments
that take up most of the screen, so I made sure my take had
the typography as the primary focus.
Knowing my plan was to focus on the typography of the credits,
my strategy would to break down each monument into simple
shapes being assembled by lines that would appear on screen.
The typography would compliment these simplistic shapes by
appearing on screen when the shapes are fully constructed and
faded into the background. My sequence takes inspiration from
the original end sequence by utilizing the transitions from
two other non-traditional alphabets to the English alphabet.
In the end, what was delivered was a unique take on the end
credits sequence of Black Panther, which shifts the focus from
the statue objects to the typography.

Initial sketches of the sequence.
Reimagined the end credits sequence for Black Panther through a new visual interpretation that explored alternative
way of displaying its typography and surrounding objects. The project focused on capturing the film’s tone in a way
that is vastly different from the official product, while maintaining key elements.
