Overview
Developed a new visual rebrand for a local establishment, creating a refreshed identity that included a new logo
system and brand guidelines for it, along with promotional materials and packaging design. The goal of the rebrand
was to create a modern yet iconic design that could be consistently applied to
material - both physical and digital.
In the end, what was delivered was a rebrand and refresh to the visual
direction of the Pizza Palace establishment that gives the restaurant an
appealing visual identity. To go along with the rebrand, a new set of
guidelines, menus, billboard advertising, web pages, and pizza boxes
were established as well.
My research began with searching up existing Pizza Palace branding, finding
whatever images that were available on the internet. I took pictures of the
building's front as well as their menus, and began drafting color palettes and
logo designs. I ended up going with a similar color palette that they already
use, however I added an extra red.
For the logo, I was inspired by existing logos for brands such as Pizza Hut and
Jack In The Box, and other combination mark logos. These logos inspired me
to create an illustration of a literal pizza palace alongside illustrated text.
With the branding's colors and logo finalized, I began developing the
brand's typography, to pair with its other elements. I utilized the logo's
color palette across the additional elements, such as the pizza box as well
as the designed menu. For typefaces used, I selected Bahnschrift Regular
and Bodoni 72 Bold as serif and sans serif typefaces because I believed
they worked well together. With all of these established, I was able to
approach designing brand guidelines, billboard advertising, menus,
and webpages for the rebrand.
